Special Thanks
*A Special Thanks To Max and Donna Alumbaugh, Maida and Barry Evans, Nancy and Steve Cohen for being the first people to help donate to our Nursery School Project.

Why A Nursery School?

I have often heard and read that the first five years of a child’s life are the most formative years of life. It is during this time that teaching, guidance, love, and security are extra-extra important to children. Unfortunately as orphans and needy children many children are not offered the attention they need at home and orphans in particular are often mistreated and seen as the lowest person in society. Our Nursery School seeks to be a place of safety, learning and fun providing each child with a since of belonging and importance while in an educational environment.

Our Nursery School will target the orphans and needy in the community. These are the children whose parent’s/caregivers are not capable to provide to school fees or the basics of school supplies. Just recently a women (who lived near the Nursery School) of many young children died during childbirth….this is one example of how children in this area are orphaned and a child with out a mother in this society is left completely hopeless. This is why we want the Pre-School to be completely free of charge as well as we plan to provide each child with school supplies. We also want to make sure we provide at least one meal a day as many of the children are malnourished and in much need of such a service.

Moving Forward

Out of the money Didan has been making from the special hire business he just started he has been continuing to finance projects with the Nursery School. He has paid for the doors and windows and we are now beginning to build the toilet.

We still have many needs and would like to ask you to join hands with us in helping these children. Thank you for your prayers and considering being a donor.

Lion’s Heart Pre-School’s ABC’S

Academic: Lion’s Heart classes are primarily ‘academic’ in nature. Learning is made fun through interaction, related projects, play, ect. Classes focus on learning through all senses. Each child is given the freedom to learn at his or her own pace while all children are encouraged and included in each activity.

Bonding: Equally as important as learning reading, writing, math, science, numbers, ect … is learning how to relate to each other in kind and fair ways such as taking turns, sharing, being gentle. Each child is encouraged to share his or her feeling with others in a way that is respectful to self and others. Lion’s Heart seeks to create an environment where each child feels safe and appreciated…it seeks to be a place where there is always fair treatment and where friendships are birthed.

Communication: Communication with parents and children is central to Lion’s Heart Classes. Communication with parents helps us to create consistent care for the children, address concerns, and celebrate growth. Communication with the child honors each unique child, includes the child in all activities, and helps the child understand actions and consequences.

Nurturing Curiosity and Creativity through imaginative and interactive outdoor and indoor play, puppet and story time, arts and crafts, music and movement, and lesson plans centered around various themes.
